Canada’s Gildan Activewear, a leading apparel manufacturer, has announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the ordinary shares of Gold Toe Moretz Holdings Corp. (Gold Toe Moretz) for a total purchase price of approximately U.S. $350 million. Under the agreement Gildan will not assume any of Gold Toe Moretz’s outstanding debts.

Study shows Dryarn offers high thermo-physiological comfort
A recent study performed by the LATT laboratory in Biella, Italy is said to have shown that Aquafil Spa’s Dryarn, an innovative polypropylene micro fibre designed for high performance materials for underwear, sportswear and special technical applications even under extreme conditions, is superior to the other fibres analysed in terms of thermo-regulation, breathability and drying speed.

Strong sales lift profits at Wolford
Innovative Austrian hosiery and lingerie manufacturing brand Wolford posted a strong third quarter 2010/11, continuing the positive trend of the first two quarters. Sales at the international fashion company in the first nine months of the current fiscal year (May 1, 2010 – January 31, 2011) rose by 6.6% to EUR 120.0 million, but operating performance indicators developed even more gratifyingly, with profit from continuing operations improving by 93% on the previous year, from EUR 4.6 million to EUR 8.9 million.
