Merino gains ground in seamless sportswear

Leading seamless circular knitting machine builder Santoni has reported strong sales of its machines into the sportswear sector especially for the production of merino wool based seamless garments. Sportswear manufacturers are mainly interested in the Italian company’s SM8 TR1 machine for single jersey garments with mesh effects – particularly in 24 gauge for zonal knitting or body mapping in natural fibres such as merino wool.

THA unveils new verification badge for members

The Hosiery Association (THA) has unveiled a new member verification badge for official distinction of participating ‘legwear’ industry companies.   Accessing the badge via a password-protected, members-only section on the THA website, members will be able to embed it digitally within their website and social media platforms; or add the logo to printed promotional materials. The badge was created by digital marketing firm CGR Creative.

Canada’s Gildan Activewear Inc. has completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% of CanAm Yarns LLC (CanAm), its 50%-owned yarn spinning joint venture and is planning to modernize and expand the two CanAm yarn-spinning facilities. It is also planning a new yarn-spinning facility in the U.S.
